My name is Alexandra, and I’m the founder of Grape Cru, a project that blends wine, culture, curiosity, and connection. My journey here began in 1998 in hospitality at the Place d’Armes Hotel, where I first realized the power wine has to turn a simple interaction into a moment of meaning. That spark led me to formal studies in 2006, graduating from the Institut Hôtelier des Laurentides in Sainte-Adèle with an ASP in sommellerie. In the years that followed, I dove into the world of wine importing and sales, beginning in 2007 as a representative for LCC Wine & Spirits, and later continuing my education through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, where I am now one exam away from completing the WSET Diploma.
In 2011, I co-founded Onivino Wine & Spirits, which has since grown into a trusted importation agency in Quebec. In 2021, I created Agence Blue Dot with the help of my business partners, a wine marketing company dedicated supporting smaller growers navigate importing wine into our great Canadian provinces. In 2024, Onivino was sold to a new proprietor, and I stayed on as Director of Operations to help lead the next chapter.
Through all of this, one message kept becoming clearer. The best part of wine is not the bottle. It is the people around it. And that realization is what brought Grape Cru to life.
Grape Cru is my passion project, I wanted to create a space where wine lovers of all levels can learn, taste, discover new producers, celebrate small growers, and most importantly connect with each other. No intimidation, no pressure, no right answers. Just good wine, good conversation, and a growing community.
